“Green” Cabinets
The importance of using environmentally safe products is growing throughout the woodworking industry and the world. “Green” cabinets are made from environmentally conscious products available in the woodworking industry. Use of these products will produce little air pollution and help preserve the forests of the world.
Wood
The wood products used in the production of “green” cabinets are sustainable, which means they have minimal long term affects on the environment. Many of the wood products are also Forest Stewardship Counsel (FSC) certified. The FSC promotes and sets standards for responsible forest management. This is important to the continuance of forests around the world.
Stains and Finishes
The stains and finishes used in production of “green” cabinets are also environmentally friendly. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are any organic, carbon-containing compounds that readily evaporate to the atmosphere at room temperature. Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) are chemicals that can cause adverse effects to human health or the environment. Both of these contribute to air pollution both indoor and out. The stains and finishes we use in “green” cabinet production are low in both VOCs and HAPs levels.
Counter Tops
We have a wide variety of counter tops that may be selected for use with our “green” cabinets. They are formaldehyde free and safe for the environment.
